VERA G. BROWN was admitted to the Bar of the State of New York in 1989. She has practiced law in the area of Wills, Trusts, Estate Planning, Estate Administration, and Surrogate’s Court practice since that time. She graduated with Honors from Pace University School of Law in 1988 and was awarded the Julian H. Hyman, Esq. Memorial Certificate of Merit in Trusts and Estates, Certificate of Recognition from the American Bar Association (Section of Urban, State and Local Government Law), and Municipal Law Certificate.

 

Ms. Brown attended Swarthmore College in 1966-68 and was accepted into the Honors program, but she received her BA degree with Highest Honors from the University of North  Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1970. At that time, she was admitted to the Phi Beta Kappa honorary fraternity.

 

She is a long-time member of the New York State Bar Association and the Rockland County Bar Association, and a former President and Board of Directors member of The Estate Planning Council of Rockland County.

 

Ms. Brown has served as Deputy Chairman of the Wesley Hills Planning Board from June, 1983  through March, 2012 and Chairman of the Wesley Hills Planning Board from April, 2012 to the 2024. She was also Deputy Chairman of the Wesley Hills Planning Commission in 1983-1984 when the Village Zoning laws were written and adopted. She is a Board member of the  Swarthmore College Garnet Club Advancement Council.
